What the ####?! Issue 37

Summer has finally arrived and there has been some gorgeous weather recently. I don’t want it to be too hot because I am not good when the weather is baking outside. The heatwave in which some reports suggested might happen didn’t actually happen and we had no thunderstorms as well which is a bonus, get in there!!!!!

Let’s start off this week with one of the most scariest experience that some of us defiantly don’t want to experience in our lifetimes. The Smiler ride at Alton Towers is coming under heavy scrutiny after two carriages collided with each other. There were 16 people on one carriage and none on the other.

The four people at the front were treated with serious lower limb injuries. No wonder the passengers were trapped for several hours about 7.6m above the ground. One witness said, “When the second carriage crashed people were screaming and shouting – even after it stopped. Everyone around the park ran over.

“The people looked significantly distressed. It was almost like a car crash, very full-on.”

I saw a video footage on the Guardian website when it happened, it didn’t see the crash but heard the shocking reaction of the person who was recording the footage. No one would want to be in this scary situation, I hope the four people will recover from their injuries but this is like a significant car crash and very scary indeed. I know that Alton Towers have been closed for a few days and I hope they will find more evidence of how this happened.

A bit of local news now from my area and something you would possible feel sick at the end. In Peterborough, a woman’s torso was found in a suitcase (who would do that you sick ba###rd!!!!!!!!!!!). The police wants to find Vitautas Jokubauskas from Lithuania who was been renting the property at the time.

They believed that the woman was in her 40’s, slim with black hair also from Lithuania. If anyone has any information about this sick case don’t email me at all, just go to the police. Can’t believe anyone would do such a sick act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we got yet another Maths question that is finding some people take their anger, here’s the question:

There are n sweets in a bag. Six of the sweets are orange. The rest of the sweets are yellow.

Hannah takes a sweet from the bag. She eats the sweet. Hannah then takes at random another sweet from the bag. She eats the sweet.

The probability that Hannah eats two orange sweets is 1/3. Show that n²-n-90=0

Let me try and explain the answer.

We know that we have sweets in the bag. 6 are orange sweets. The probability of Hannah eating 2 oranges are 1/3 (which would be equal to the sum)

6        5        1

—  X  —   =    — (multiply both sides top and bottom)
N     N-1        3

30        1
——- =  —
N(N-1)    3

Then times the 3 by the 30

———     = 1

Then times the 1 by the N(N-1)

90= N²-N

Then rearrange -90 on both sides to get

That’s the best method I could do it. To be fair it’s not as hard as the Singapore one from a few months back that the wording was so messed up it was unbelievable. If my way of explaining wasn’t easy, here’s an experts solution to this problem.

So you want to buy a car so badly but you haven’t got the necessary money to buy it. Well somebody in China took the idea to an extraordinary level. He bought a new car using 660,000 coins 20,000 low value banknotes. Each coin and note was valued at one yuan or 10p so you would work out the new car was worth £68,000.

The money weighed in at 4 tons and took over 4m of the floorspace in the showroom. His money was mostly through the petrol station that the guy worked out, didn’t he know he could just take those coins to the bank and convert them to cold hard cash LOL. The buyer did warn the seller in the first place and of course the money was all wrapped up neatly so great stuff.

Let’s end the latest issue with a breakthrough in surgery. James Boysen has become the first man to have a skull and scalp transplant which in total took a 15 hour operation. He was missing the whole crown on his head because he had a rare type of cancer. He was also given a new kidney and pancreas during the procedure.

Mr Boysen was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma in 2006. The cancer of the muscle on the scalp was treated with a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but it permanently damaged the surrounding tissue. The scalp and skull were destroyed by the treatment, leaving his brain vulnerable.

That is such an achievement and I’m really pleased that Mr Boysen can carry on with his life. So well done to the Housten Methodist hospital and Anderson cancer center for this breakthrough.

Thank you very much for all your likes and comments throughout the week and also to the guest writers that have been in contact with me. I will record my radio show today which features brand new stories, OMG and awards, details in which will be mentioned tomorrow. See ya guys.

What the ####?! Issue 30

Hello guys, I am currently having a cup of coffee while almost got everything packed up for my long drive back home. Fingers crossed I don’t go on the M25 again but i’m pretty sure i will be.

Speaking of driving, a report has come out this week that fewer drivers are punished for using their mobile phones when driving. The figures have been falling since 2011 and they took another 24% drop this year. The fix penalty is £100 and three points on your licence.

What the report also told us is that there was a course set up for offenders and it’s called What’s Driving Us? Think that’s helped alot.

But I find it pretty hard nowadays like what most younger people, teenagers do which is texting and walking at the same time, had to stop time and time again because I don’t want to walk into the middle of the road and get hit. That would mean if I was to try and drive and answer a phone call that would be impossible. I still keep an eye out for motorist using their phones and there are still loads of them around, it kind of grind me gears if you mind the pun.

Another trend that may be happening is when you buy alcohol, beer, spirits, you may need to ask for you I.D. because you might not look 18 years old. I am sad to say that one shop in Newport, Wales has disregarded the rules completely.

Jayesh Patel has been stripped of his Newsagent licence over allegations that he sold alcohol to 55 children, even from 11 year olds who they told him to hid the alcohol from CCTV. Jayesh of course denies these allegations. But these came alight after a child was taken to hospital unconscious from drinking alcohol from Jayesh’s newsagents.

Other incidents include two 12 year old girls taken to hospital because they were so ill from the alcohol and another 13 year old was bought home drunk by 3 police officers because he couldn’t walk.

Oh dear, that is one dodgy man. I know he may be thinking about keeping a roof over his head and keeping the store open but now it is heavily threatened of closure. Have a look at this report and see for yourself.

Now I got a Maths question for you guys and it has stunned the world, literally. This is from Singapore.

I was confused because the wording in this is bonkers and the conversation makes you think it could be any one of these days, let’s have a think………………. I’m sorry, it’s so confusing and many people feel the same way too. There is unbelievably a solution to this. If you can explain his answer then please comment below. I was supposed to be good at Maths, you know (boo hoo).

You can cheat on this one but you can’t cheat in Chess, even in the highest professional level. There are various chess apps or games that you can download to test you skills at, even if a computer does beat you by a country mile. But one grandmaster has been caught playing chess in the toilets at a local tournament and was immediately disqualified.

Gaioz Nigalidze could face a three year ban from playing professionally if he is found guilty. At the Dubai Open, Gaioz’s opponent Tigran Petrosian alerted the officials that Gaioz has taken regular intervals to the toilet, were he would stay at the same cubicle for 10 minutes or more. When the officials found him, they noticed a smartphone wrapped in toilet tissue and buried in the bin.

The tournament director said he denies the allegations because it was logged into his Facebook page where there was a chess app running on it, showing his positions. I just think that is as clear as guilty verdict as you were ever seen. Sorry Gaioz but your officially a duchbag.

A couple has set a new record in America, for giving birth to a set of quintuplet sisters, so she has given birth to 5 sisters. Danielle Busby was so pleased that Olivia Marie, Ava Lane, Hazel Grace, Parker Kate and Riley Paige were thriving. It was believed that the last time five sisters were born at the same time was in 1969 in London.

And I would like to give a quick mention to one of the most hard working men in the world. The BBC Political Editor, Nick Robinson who has been out of action because of a carcioid tumour removed has slowly recovered to at a stage where he can do some more reporting on the run up to the general election.

What I find with Nick is he says it as it is and gives us people a question to ask ourselves afterwards. He is clear, a web full of knowledge and a powerful interviewer. One of the key men to all things politics and I love you for all that, so please to see him back on the TV. A short but powerful video.

On the latest radio show, there will be more OMG news and awards that haven’t been featured on this latest What the ####?! issue which will be worth a listen to. I will also be talking about holidays, my recent Littlehampton adventure in which you can see the day by day blog with the brilliant pictures took and I will be reading some of your comments as well.

Thank you once again for all your likes and comments over the past week, it has certainly been a busy week even on my week off work but it comes to show that there are so many things to do in the UK. Get your guest writer posts in, music for the Jukebox and so much more. See ya.
