Not that it’s really a secret, but it is a little embarrassing to talk about. But I also feel like as painful as it is, it’s necessary to try to get people to understand. I don’t know how to drive a car, or ride a bike.

One of the most infuriating parts about being on the spectrum is how people think it’s a lack of desire that is the main cause. They’re half right. The lack of desire is there, but it’s not the main cause. That lack of desire is brought on by a lack of know-how. I had a learner’s permit when I was 15 and 16 years old, but even then, I could tell that I wasn’t cut out for it. What’s even more upsetting to me is that I cost myself a chance to audition for the spring musical my freshman year of high school…
