Dear God, are you kidding me?

This is the story of Dixie and Penny.
It was another scorcher in the little town of Victoria Texas. The biggest thing in Victoria was a mental institution that looked more like a college campus. There were no walls or barbed fences. No, their restraints were pharmaceutical in nature. The place was called The Devereux Foundation. I lived there for 3 years. I think I was about 15 when I arrived.
It felt like it was 110° so the staff decided to take us on a field trip. As the staff members piled about 25 of us into an old school bus, they were unaware of a silent feud that had been building between two other patients, Dixie and Penny.
