We don’t have that in the USA but there is a lot of controversy over forcing retail/Shopping Malls/Department store workers come in on Thanksgiving which is a National Family Holiday here in America. We have something called Black Friday which is a major shopping day after Thanksgiving. I think the Dept. Store and retail workers should be able to eat their turkey with their families without having to report to work because of greedy shoppers.
I was going to answer this post with a question about how that compares to our American controversy over Thanksgiving/Black Friday. I am unsure, because in some cases workers do receive double pay and not everyone likes Thanksgiving, although I am also concerned for the workers who feel they have no choice in the matter.
No!
They’ve made their choice..

Not always. Some are coerced or bullied into coming into work on Boxing Day out of fear of losing their jobs.
