Too Young to Write?

“You’re too young to do that! Wait until you’re older.”

How many of us have heard this phrase at some point in our lives? I know that I have, more than once. My whole life I’ve been ‘too young’ to do anything that I wanted to do. I was ‘too young’ at the age of two to know that I wanted to be an author. I was ‘too young’ at the age of three to try to write a story. I was ‘too young’ at the age of four to marry The Crocodile Hunter (Steve Irwin). Okay, they were right about that one, but, still! When I was thirteen, I was ‘too young’ to write a novel. Friends, relatives, teachers… they all told me that I was too young, that I would never finish, and that, if I did, it wouldn’t be worth reading. At fourteen, I was ‘too young’…
