Winter’s Tale

A Streetcar Named Youth

small white flakes
the embodiment of a colder season
and yet, full of emotion and reason
these flakes of:
drifting nonchalantly, undeterred
glistening graciously in the morning light
scattered across the silence of the dawn
and when the curtains do arise from their slumber
small white flakes now a lawn
small, jubilant faces will press themselves against cold glass
and escape into the streets
and a melody will sing
the start of winter
